Bared O – Impossible Stainless Steel Sculpture

Bared O

Bared O is a three-dimensional realization of an impossible figure originally illustrated by Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd.

From the front and from the back, the structure appears logically consistent. Only from other viewpoints does the spatial contradiction become visible. The sculpture is handcrafted from stainless steel with high geometric precision and a refined surface finish.

Its construction requires exact positioning, controlled welding, and careful manual assembly.

As with all of my impossible objects, this work is designed to function from both main viewing directions, which distinguishes it from conventional perspective-based illusion sculptures.
