Screwed – Impossible Aluminium Sculpture (after Steve Leishman)
Beschreibung
Screwed
Screwed is an impossible geometric sculpture based on an original concept by Steve Leishman and realized by Werner Stanggaßinger.
The object is constructed from solid aluminium bars that are precisely machined, assembled, and rigidly connected.
Its structure forms an apparently contradictory spatial configuration that appears coherent from specific viewpoints while remaining physically impossible in conventional three-dimensional space.
The intersecting elements create the impression of twisted and displaced connections that cannot exist simultaneously in real geometry. Despite this visual paradox, the sculpture is mechanically stable and physically continuous.
The colored aluminium surfaces reinforce the directional illusion and support the perception of spatial inconsistency.
The surface finish can be realized through anodizing or high-quality coating, ensuring durability and long-term color stability.
Screwed is designed as a freestanding sculptural object for architectural, private, and exhibition environments.
